Leather Boots

It is important that you read carefully the care leaflet in the box with your new purchase of footwear.

Clean your leather boots using Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel.  THis gel removes stubborn dirt & grime leaving water-repellancy intact.  It is easily applied with a built-in sponge.  Clean all outdoor footwear before re-proofing.

Waterproof with Nikwax Waterproofing wax for leather. This adds water-repellancy without softening. For best results allow to dry naturally.

Nikwax Conditioner for Leather adds water-repellancy & revives dried out leather. Nikwax has carefully blended waxes & tanning agents to condition footwear without over-softening the leather.  Use a few times a year or as required.

Drying Leave footwear to dry at room temperature.  To speed up drying stuff newspaper into the toes to soak up the water.  Keep changing the newspapers until dry.

As a practical tip - remove & clean footbed with Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel.  Remove laces and clean separately.  Pay particular attention to stitching and stress points when cleaning & re-proofing

Always test product on hidden area first as some types of leather may darken

Once or twice a year remove the inner soles and fill the footwear with Nikwax Techwash and leave to soak for 15 minutes. This prevents salt from sweaty feet penetrating the inner lining into the leather causing it to dry out & crack.  This also helps minimise fungal infection e.g. Athlete's Foot
