Feather Down Products

It is ultimately important that you read carefully the care instructions and follow the manufacturers advise on the care label at all times.

When it becomes necessary to clean your down product, great care should be taken.  Our recommendations are that the product is washed in a delicate cycle at 800 spin with Nikwax Down Wash, a non-detergent, biodegradable liquid soap which removes dirt, body oils and detergent which contaminates the down causing it to clump together and lose loft.  This leaves waster-repellancy intact.

Nikwax Down Proof should be added to a rinse cycle for best effect. This adds water-repellancy and revives breathability, reduces water absorbtion, minimises weight-gain and maintains insulating properties.  This will last for several washings and does not need to be re-applied after every wash like other treatments.

The product should then be tumble dried in a delicate or cool cycle with a tennis ball in a pillow case in the drum until the product is completely dry. Tumble dry tips for best lofting - tumble dry down on low heat for 60 minutes.  Hang in a warm dry area for anout 24 hours & then tumble dry for another 30 minutes on a low heat.
