Fabric Boots

It is important that you read carefully the care leaflet in the box with your new purchase of footwear.

To clean your fabric or leather footwear, wet shoes or boots under running water and clean off surplus dirt/mud.  Use a soft nylon brush if required.  Apply Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel to remove stubborn dirt.  Rinse with clean water.

As a practical tip - remove & clean footbed with Nikwax footwear cleaning gel.  Remove laces and clean separately.  Pay particular attention to stitching and stress points when cleaning & re-proofing.

Waterproof with Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proofer as this adds water repellancy & provides maximum waterproofing with minimal change to the look and feel.

Nikwax Nubuck & Suede adds water-repellancy and maintains colour & texture. It can be brushed with a suede brush when dry.

Drying Leave footwear to dry at room temperature.  To speed up drying stuff newspaper into the toes to soak up the water.  Keep changing the newspapers until dry.

Always test product on hidden area first as some types of leather may darken

Once or twice a year remove the inner soles and fill the footwear with Nikwax Techwash and leave to soak for 15 minutes. This prevents salt from sweaty feet penetrating the inner lining into the leather causing it to dry out & crack.  This also helps minimise fungal infection e.g. Athlete's Foot
